Matcha Mochi Cupcakes

Recently, I tried making mochi cupcakes for the first time, and was surprised that it actually worked out well. The cupcakes were delicious. The outside of the cupcake was slightly crunchy, and the inside of the cupcake was soft. If you like mochi or matcha desserts, you should try this recipe. Since Mother’s Day is coming up, this is a good dessert to make for the person that you love. Enjoy!

Matcha Mochi Cupcakes Recipe

Servings: 6 cupcakes


  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Mochiko flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp matcha powder


  • Bake at 350 F. for 12-13 minutes.

  • After the cupcakes cooled completely, decorate the top with powder sugar or frosting (optional).



Side note: I used a convection table top oven (, which helped with the speed of baking. If you use a regular oven, the baking time may take slightly longer.
