Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic started, there has been a shortage of many types of flour. Fortunately, there are ways to make your own flour for baking. Below are a few ways on how to make your own flour.
You can easily put rice in a food processor or coffee grinder to make your own rice flour. Make sure to set it on the finest setting before you grind it. The best part about rice flour is that it is gluten-free. If you want the flour to be more fine, use a fine sifter to sift the rice flour.
Just like making rice flour, you can put nuts in a food processor (ex. Almonds, walnuts, cashews). Pulse the nuts until the texture is super fine. Use a sifter to sift the nut flour, and you can use it to make French macarons. Nut flour is gluten-free as well.
Baby food: rice cereal
I tried using baby rice cereal to replace all-purpose flour and it didn’t turn out so great. However, it worked fine when I substituted half of the all-purpose flour. So you can try using it for different recipes and adjust the ingredients accordingly.
